Feb 19 Super Snow Moon
This is the second out of three super moons that will be occurring in 2019. With these moons in such close proximity, we are cultivating a lot of healing energy around us. Full moons tend to bring out the emotional and intuitive sides of us. Super moons are different because this is when the moon swings closer in orbit to the Earth making it appear bigger. Scientifically speaking, the gravity is a lot more intense, literally pulling our bodies in different directions all day long. Super moons can be intense, but these times are calling us to do much more than keep our balance.
This moon in particular is called the Snow Moon because each year the moon is surrounded by February, probably the snowiest and coldest months of the year. This is also the time of year that farmers plant their crops for the Spring season. We have turned past the winter solstice, and are now celebrating longer days with more sunshine. Within a blink of an eye, the weather will shift, and the flowers will bloom once again.
Before we can get to this point though, we must focus on our improvement during the cold season of introverts.
This moon moves us to focus on our future; not in a pushy or anxious way, but with a mindful tone of how exactly we can experience it tactfully and with the wise eye that our past has blessed us with.
Focus on your next big goal, and see the smaller steps that make up the body of your goal.
This is also an incredible time for manifestation. What is manifestation? Manifestation: Focusing, feeling, visualizing, and speaking something into external and/or internal existence. It sounds so crazy! But it's true- we as humans have the capacity to manifest everything we want. In fact, we've manifested everything in our lives up to this point and most of us don't realize it.
Tip 1: Make a vision board. Cut out pictures of a magazine or print out pictures of things that you want in your life. Surround yourself with positive words.
Tip 2: Cleanse your space and get rid of things you no longer need. A kind way to cleanse your space is to pick up the things, and ask yourself "Does this spark joy within me?" If it no longer sparks joy within you, then you can thank it, and donate it / throw it away.
Tip 3: Forgive. Forgive yourself, forgive others. Love. Love yourself, love others. True love flows through our bodies first by feeling forgiveness.
These are just a few things to get you started on your cleanse. This can happen at any time but the results of your actions are magnified during a Super Moon. Emotional tensions run high and we can really put things into focus.
Take a deep breath and spend some time doing yoga. Yoga is a mind-body connection that you can make to increase your body awareness, mindfulness, and gratitude.
