Summertime Yoga Poses
Harvest the full power of summer with these upbeat vinyasa poses. These postures are great to add into your everyday practice and are made for all levels. Check them out below.
Chaturanga
Power up the arms and core through adding more chaturangas in your practice this summer. In alignment with summer’s vibrant energy, chaturangas are sure to fire up the body. If there is an opportunity for you to move through, add in an additional chaturanga, or get creative with a variation; we recommend that you take it! Allow the energy of summer to inspire your physical practice on the mat.
Boat Pose
Boat pose is always a great pose to throw in to fire up the abdominals. There are many variations, twists, and creative ways to practice boat post more in your yoga sequences this summer. Some of our favorites include eagle crunches, russian twists, or even a classic hold.
Side Plank
Side plank is another great pose to practice in the heat of the summer, as it really strengthens the obliques and the arms. For variations, we can recommend placing one knee on the floor for additional support or raising the upper leg for additional challenge.
Table Top
Table top is a great option to add in some glute based exercises to help shape the lower half of your body for your summer yoga practice. We recommend tiger pose crunches, leg raises, and even exercises while hovering the knees to activate the core.
Chair Pose
Chair pose variations are an awesome way to add in glute and leg exercises for a hot summer yoga practice. We suggest chair pose twists, holds, and one leg variations to activate the lower half of the body.
Although these may seem like standard postures, we can channel summer’s energy of creative fire to practice variations of these postures that activate more heat within the body. Let us know what you think and if you give any of these a try!
