3 Meditations for Kids
Meditation can be very helpful for children to learn how to practice more mindfulness in their everyday life. Although it may seem like a boring activity for them, it can be practiced in many relevant ways for them to enjoy. Below are a few different ways to introduce this practice to them in a more fun and lighthearted manner.
Coloring
Believe it or not, coloring is a form of meditation! You can even find more modern coloring books that are yoga-based, including mandala coloring books. This is a really simple method of introducing meditation to your children and is great for calming their nervous system, which can be helpful for test preparation at school or anyway to assist them with stress relief.
Laughing
Laughing is the most silly way to introduce meditation to your child, while also spending some time with them and bonding in a playful way. For this, we recommend taking a few minutes to sit with your kiddo and just laugh together. It might start out a bit forced, but will surely end up in honest humor after a while. This method is surprisingly a great way to introduce meditation for children and can help to reset their focus and concentration.
Guided Audios
There are also many guided meditation audios for children to listen to that guide them through visual activities and breathing exercises that can help to become more aware of their thoughts and feelings and develop a connection to their mind and body. These are great to prepare children for sleep or school.
These are some beautiful ways to introduce meditation to your children that can benefit them in many ways. Let us know if you give any of these a try and which one your child liked best. Llamaste everyone!
