At Llamaste Family Yoga, we believe yoga is for *every* body — every age, every background, every identity. As we enter Pride Month, it's a powerful opportunity to reflect on how we can uplift and support our LGBTQIA+ community both on and off the mat. Pride is more than a celebration — it’s an ongoing commitment to equity, visibility, and love.

Here are five intentional and heartfelt ways we can honor Pride Month together as a yoga community:

 1. Create a Truly Inclusive Space

Inclusion starts with awareness. Take a moment to evaluate your studio environment: Are your classes accessible and welcoming to all identities? Use gender-neutral language in your cues and signage, offer modifications for all bodies, and respect chosen names and pronouns. For families, ensure your kids' classes and events reflect diverse stories and family structures.

At Llamaste, we practice loving-kindness not just as a pose, but as a policy.

2. Elevate LGBTQIA+ Voices in Yoga

Representation matters. This month, consider inviting LGBTQIA+ guest teachers to lead a class or workshop. Feature queer yogis on your social media or in newsletters, and highlight their work, stories, and journeys. If you’re a student, follow and support LGBTQIA+ creators, authors, and wellness professionals in your feed.

When we listen with open hearts, we grow together.

3. Host a Pride-Inspired Yoga Event

Gather your community for a special class or donation-based event in celebration of Pride. Think rainbow-themed family flows, storytelling yoga for kids featuring inclusive books, or candlelit restorative classes honoring queer resilience. Donate proceeds to local LGBTQIA+ organizations or youth shelters.

Movement with meaning creates ripples of change.

 4. Educate Yourself and Your Community

Yoga teaches us to be lifelong students. Use this month to deepen your understanding of the LGBTQIA+ experience. Share educational resources, host a panel discussion, or create a book corner in your studio with inclusive titles for kids and adults. Start conversations that invite empathy and healing.

Learning is a form of love.

 5. Practice Ahimsa (Non-Harm) in All Forms

One of yoga’s foundational principles, *ahimsa*, calls us to do no harm — and to actively cultivate compassion. Speak out against discrimination, practice allyship, and make room for honest, sometimes uncomfortable dialogue. True allyship goes beyond June.

Supporting Pride means showing up — in big and small ways — all year long.

 A Final Namaste

Celebrating Pride in the yoga world is about more than rainbow leggings and hashtags — it's about living our practice. At Llamaste Family Yoga, we are committed to creating a space where *all* families, identities, and bodies feel seen, celebrated, and supported.

Let’s breathe together, grow together, and rise together in love.

🌈 Happy Pride
